Department of Public Works Tinicum Township has approximately 107 miles of roads. 74 miles are maintained by the Tinicum Township Department of Public Works, the remainder are maintained by the PA Dept. of Transportation (PennDOT). Township roads are maintained in an order of priority established by the Public Works Director to enable the safest and most efficient travel throughout the township. |

TINICUM TOWNSHIP BRIDGES Part of Tinicum Township's charm is it's historic bridges and winding country roads, but they can be a challenge for delivery vans and trucks. Please remember bridge weight/height limits when providing delivery instructions.

TINICUM TOWNSHIP DIRT & GRAVEL ROADS The Township maintains 18 miles of dirt and gravel roads. Ordinance 185 was established to protect these roads by establishing width and weight restrictions. The average width of these roads is 12 feet and should not be used by vehicles exceeding 8 feet in width. Additionally, heavy trucks can damage the road surface. There is weight limit of 15 tons between Jan. 1 and May 31 and a weight limit of 30 tons between June 1 and Dec. 31 of any year. Click here for a map of Tinicum Township dirt & gravel roads. |

TINICUM TOWNSHIP MAINTAINED ROADS The following roads are maintained by the Township: Annawanda Road, Beaver Run Road, Boulder, Breezy Road, Bunker Hill Road, Cafferty Road, Center Road, Clay Ridge Road, Durham Road, Ervin Road, Everbreeze Road, Farm School Road, Erwinna Way Lane, Frankenfield Road, Gruver Road, Hager Hill Road, Hollow Horn Road, Iron Bridge Road, Jugtown Hill Road, Lear Drive, Lily Valley Road, Lodi Hill Road, Meadow Lane, Mount Airy Road, Municipal Road, Oak Grove Road, Old Forge Road, Park Road, Permanent School Road, Perry Auger Road, Randts Mill Road, Red Cliff Road, Ridge Valley Road, Roaring Rocks Road, Rock Ridge Road, Ropewalk Road, Second Street Street, Sheephole Road, Sherman Road, Shull Farm Road, Smithtown Road, Stagecoach Road, Sunset Road, Swamp Creek Road, Tabor Road, Tammany Road, Tankhannen Road, Tettemer Road, Tinby Drive, Tinicum Creek Road, Tohickon Square East, Tohickon Valley Road, Tory Road, Twin Lear Road, Uhlerstown Hill Road, Union School Road, Valley View Road, Wildcat Road, Wormansville Road. Please note: The hill section of Uhlerstown Hill is a one-way road going uphill (northbound). Due to safety concerns, it is closed during the winter months and reopens in the spring at the discretion of the Public Works Director. |

PENNDOT MAINTAINED ROADS PennDOT maintains the following state-owned roads: Bedminster Road (Rte. 113), Brick Church Road, Byram Road, Creamery Road, Easton Road (Rte. 611), E. Dark Hollow Road, Geigel Hill Road, Headquarters Road, Red Hill Road, River Road (Rte. 32) South Park Road, Stover Park Road, Upper Tinicum Church Road. For assistance with state roads call PennDOT at 215-345-6060 or 1-800-FIX ROAD. The Customer Care Center (CCC) is an online resource for the residents of Pennsylvania to submit complaints about potholes, deer carcass removal, drainage issues, etc. If the concern requires immediate attention, please call 1-800-FIX-ROAD to be directly connected to the county maintenance office in your area.
